UPDATE:

Adult Spiritual Formation Class – Sunday, February 22, 11:15

LIVING THE QUESTIONS – The Wisdom of Progressive Christianity

Starting Sunday, February 22, we will begin an adult DVD series called “Living the Questions.”  The producers of this curriculum describes it as “an open-minded alternative to studies that attempt to give participates all the answers and instead strives to create an environment where participants can interact with one another in exploring what’s next for Christianity.”   This series brings together over 30 highly acclaimed scholars, theologians and other experts in a video exploration of an open, inclusive, broad-minded Christianity.

We gather for adult formation class at approximately 11:15 am.  We meet in the Fellowship Hall of the church.  Hope you will join us.

What is “Adult Spiritual Formation” you ask? Well, it is not a new concept. Most people call it Bible Study or Sunday School.

We choose to call it Adult Spiritual Formation because that is what we are doing. Yes, we are studying the bible. Yes, we are learning about different people and places and events of the bible like Sunday School class. However, we seek to go deeper than learning about people, places and things of the bible.

The purpose of our class is to grow in our knowledge and understanding of scripture, to hear God’s word for us and for our church today and to facilitate growth in our spiritual lives.

In our Adult Spiritual Formation classes, we use the United Church of Christ’s God Is Still Speaking Writer’s Group Study Guides. The God Is Still Speaking Bible Study is different than other bible studies because we gather for such a study in the shared faith that God not only spoke then, but that God is still speaking now. God is still speaking to us, to God’s people, today and in the midst of our lives and in our experiences.

The Adult Spiritual Formation class meets every Sunday at 11:15 am following Worship Service in the Fellowship Hall.

Coffee and refreshments are provided.

Come join us for uplifting fellowship and conversation because God is still speaking!
